Independent Porsche workshop in Barcelona and Madrid
Porsche vehicle specialists since 1979
Valentín Motors is one of the leading independent Porsche specialists in the country.
Established in 1979 as a specialist in service, sales, and restoration, the workshop has grown into a benchmark in the field, featuring facilities of over 1.300 m² in central Barcelona and over 2.500 m² dedicated to comprehensive service in Leganés (Madrid), all designed with the customer in mind.
In addition to workshop and maintenance services, we have departments specializing in projects and restorations, engine and transmission rebuilds, motorsport preparation, track days, and an extensive customization catalog featuring the German firm TECHART.
Our sales department has evolved over the last two decades and specializes primarily in the 911 range. Our sales team consists of industry experts who are passionate about everything related to Porsche.
We subscribe to the brand’s official platform, P.P.N. (Porsche Partner Network), which gives us the manufacturer’s information so that we can be precise and concise in the care of our customers’ cars.
It is essential to have a trusted workshop like yours—one that helps you make decisions and is staffed by skilled professionals with diagnostic equipment. It’s not worth taking unnecessary risks. You should seriously consider always going to a specialized workshop.
We follow manufacturer-specified maintenance plans, using genuine parts and adhering to Porsche guidelines.

IMS repairs
We have carried out a great many interventions on the intermediate shaft bearing (IMS) on M96 and M97 engines of every generation: 986, 996, 987 and 997.1. We identify which bearing each engine carries before touching anything and replace it preventively, at a fixed price, or repair the engine when the damage is already done.
We have extensive experience in preventive maintenance, as well as diagnosing and resolving issues caused by bore scoring.
For 40 years, our specialty has been mechanics—specifically, engines. We restore, refurbish, and repair any engine from the brand. We offer a nationwide engine pickup service and return them once the work is complete.
We possess the machinery and tooling required for any type of restoration and machining, as well as a dedicated department for sourcing parts when needed.
05
Gearboxes
We restore all types of Porsche gearboxes, from the early 356, 915, and G50 models to the modern 991 and 992 generations. We also offer service and repair for automatic transmissions, eliminating the need to purchase new ones.
Bodywork repair and painting according to Porsche specifications: original colors matching the new paint code system. Cosmetic treatments to protect the bodywork against corrosion using modern methods. Vehicle preparation involving gap measurement, removal of trim and accessories, cataloging and chrome plating of accessories, etc.
If you have found a Porsche you wish to purchase, we can perform a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection, assessing the vehicle's current condition and reviewing its history. This allows us to verify whether the seller's offer is fair and free of hidden issues. The inspection can be carried out at our workshop in Barcelona, or we can travel to locations within Spain or abroad. The cost of the pre-purchase inspection is 250 € + VAT.
We offer nationwide technical service, as well as support for our workshop network through technical consulting.
A Porsche that does not move does not look after itself. At our Madrid centre we offer a space under 24-hour surveillance with periodic inspections and preventive maintenance while the car is in storage, so that it returns to the road as it came in.
Frequently asked questions
01 Do you work on classic and current Porsches?
Yes. From the 356 and the air-cooled 911s to the current generations, plus Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and the 924, 944, 968 and 928 transaxles.
02 What is the difference between the minor and the major service?
The minor service is engine oil and filter plus a 23-point check. The major includes the minor, adds air and cabin filters, spark plugs when due and thirty more check points. Which one applies depends on mileage and time since the last one.
03 Are the published prices fixed?
Yes. The prices include parts and labour, excluding VAT. They are reference prices per model: if something unforeseen appears during the service, it is quoted and authorised separately before it is touched.
04 Do you use genuine Porsche parts?
Yes, and we follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedules. We subscribe to the Porsche Partner Network, which gives us access to the official technical documentation for each model.
05 Do I lose the Porsche warranty by servicing outside the official network?
No. European regulations allow a car under warranty to be serviced at an independent workshop as long as the manufacturer’s schedules are followed and equivalent parts are used. We document every intervention so that it is on record.
06 How do I know if my 996, 997 or Boxster needs the IMS replaced?
By the engine, not the year: in 2000, 2001 and 2005 different revisions coexist. We identify the bearing each car carries before recommending anything. If the engine is a 997.1 with the large bearing, it cannot be replaced without opening the engine and is dealt with differently.
07 What is bore scoring and how is it diagnosed?
It is scoring of the cylinder wall from piston contact, typical of the larger-capacity M96 and M97 engines. It is diagnosed with a borescope inspection of the cylinders and oil consumption analysis; cold-start noise and the smell of burnt oil are the first warnings.
08 Can you inspect a car before I buy it?
Yes. The pre-purchase inspection checks the car’s condition and history, at our workshop or wherever the car is, in Spain or abroad. It costs 250 € plus VAT and we tell you whether the offer is reasonable and what it hides.
09 Do you repair engines from other workshops or other regions?
Yes. We collect engines nationwide, rebuild them in our engine room and return them finished. We also provide technical support to other workshops through consultancy.
10 How long does a service take and do I need an appointment?
A minor service is done the same day; a major one usually takes one or two days depending on the model. Book with the form on this page or by phone, giving model, year and what you need, and we will confirm date and price.
