Porsche 911 F and G series (1964-1989)
The first and second series air-cooled 911 is the reference Porsche. The F series (1964-1973) runs from the original 2.0 to the 2.4 and peaks with the Carrera RS 2.7; the G series (1974-1989) brings the impact bumpers, the 2.7, the 3.0 SC and, from 1984, the Carrera 3.2 with Motronic injection and, in its last two years, the G50 gearbox.
A well-chosen classic 911 is a car to be used. The SC and Carrera 3.2 are robust engines with parts available; the early F cars and the RS are collector pieces where originality outweighs mileage.
What we check on a classic 911 before selling it
- Corrosion: suspension towers, sills, floors, windscreen and rear window frames. Galvanised bodies arrived in 1976 and do not cover everything.
- Engine: compression and leaks, timing chain tensioners (hydraulic from the 1984 3.2), cylinder head studs on the magnesium-case 2.7.
- Gearbox: synchros on the 915, condition of the G50 on the 1987 to 1989 Carrera 3.2.
- Injection: K-Jetronic on the SC, Motronic on the 3.2. Cold start, idle and consumption.
- Originality: matching numbers, colours and options according to the Porsche certificate.
Buying a classic 911 at Valentín Motors
Every Classic Porsche 911 we sell goes through our 111-point inspection, leaves with a twelve-month or 10,000 km warranty on engine and gearbox, and its certified mileage is stated on the sales invoice. We have been Porsche specialists since 1979, with our own workshops in Barcelona and Madrid: the car you buy here has been on our lift before it reaches your hands.
If you have found the one you want elsewhere, we can also check it for you before you pay for it: pre-purchase inspection.
