Porsche 911 type 993 (1994-1998)

The 993 is the last air-cooled 911, and the market knows it. A 3.6 engine with 272 hp, 285 with VarioRam from 1996, six-speed manual gearbox, multi-link rear suspension and a body many consider the best balanced of all. The Turbo introduces twin turbos and four-wheel drive; Carrera S and 4S wear its wide body.

It is a car that can be used every day and that appreciates. Cars with full history and no corrosion are the ones that set the price; the rest sell for less, and rightly so.

What we check on a 993 before selling it

Valve guides and oil consumption: the engine's weak point. We measure compression and leak-down.
Leaks at valve covers, seals and oil cooler. Condition of the front radiators and fans.
Multi-link rear suspension: bushes and arms, which show up as noises and in the alignment.
Six-speed gearbox and clutch; on the Turbo, both turbos and the four-wheel-drive system.
Body: repaired damage, original paint and match with the Porsche certificate.
