There are several solutions to the breakage of the intermediate shaft with detachment of the balls from the bearing IMS

The first symptom may be finding metallic particles in the oil.

At Valentin Motors we will repair the M96 and M97 engines with the best solution and warranty.

Which symptom is clear?

Finding metallic particles in the oil is a warning sign to physically verify the area.

Disassemble box and see RMS zone + IMS

Noises?

Listen to the area between the engine and the box to verify any additional friction noise.

The importance of cylinder heads

In 3.4 engines the cylinder heads suffer especially.

We must take special care in the guidelines of servicing with the verification and cleaning of the radiators, especially between the condenser and the radiator to be able to have a normal air flow and prevent the water temperature from exceeding 82 degrees in slow circulation conditions.

Completely disassembling cylinder heads and making valve seats and guides is key to the process.
