Jordi Edo explains the services the new Leganes centre offers the Porsche community of Madrid.
After more than four decades of unbroken work in Barcelona, at the beginning of November the new Valentin Motors centre opened in Leganés, to serve Porsche owners across the Madrid area and central Spain. It is an important step for this family business of enthusiasts of the German marque, which becomes the only independent Porsche specialist workshop in Spain with centres in Barcelona and Madrid. In this interview, Jordi Edo, who runs the company, explains the services and activities Valentin Motors now offers in Madrid. Because the idea is to build a community of Porsche people here too.
How have the first weeks at the new Valentin Motors centre in Madrid gone?
Honestly, we are very pleased with the reception. The standing of the Valentin name as a Porsche reference has been a pleasant surprise. Starting a project like this is always slightly vertiginous. But after more than forty years serving enthusiasts in Barcelona and across the north-east of the peninsula, we have found that the Porsche community in Madrid trusted us from the outset. We are grateful for the welcome.
What do you want to offer the Porsche community in Madrid?
We come to add something. We had seen a gap in the Madrid market for a full Porsche service like ours. At the new Valentin Motors Madrid centre we have departments for electromechanics on classics and modern cars, full restoration of classics, bodywork, upholstery, special projects, upgrades and motorsport, and we continue to represent the German firm TECHART. We are also physically closer now to many loyal customers who have trusted us for years but live in the centre of the peninsula.
We have come to do our part in making the Porsche community in central Spain larger, if we can.

“We provide technical service for any Porsche model, of any period”
Why did you choose Madrid to expand a family business like Valentin Motors, now in its second generation?
Our expansion plan has three targets: Marbella, Andorra and Madrid. In the end Madrid came first because we found the perfect premises in Leganés: more than 2,500 m² with room for every part of the workshop, for used Porsche sales and even for a future vehicle storage service, for anyone who wants to leave their car with us.
Which part of the Porsche range do you focus on? You are known for your restoration projects, but you also work on current models, is that right?
Our range of services is very broad. We offer solutions across the whole Porsche range, from the first 356 through the transaxle cars to the modern 718, 992, Panamera and the marque’s SUVs. In the workshop we have current-generation equipment to service any Porsche model of any period. We have a team of specialists in the marque, and we are subscribed to the official Porsche Partner Network platform, so we work with technical information straight from the manufacturer.
“We want to give a real push to buying and selling used Porsche”
What about the used Porsche sales service?
This is a service we have offered for years and one we now want to push properly. On one side we offer the buyer the reassurance of a car with a 12-month or 10,000 km warranty that has been through a thorough technical inspection by our team. On the other we offer the seller a competitive price, access to our Porsche client list, all the paperwork handled, and collection and delivery anywhere in Spain.
Will you organise talks and events in Madrid as well?
Certainly. We want to extend the Valentin community to the Madrid area. As we have done for years in Barcelona, we will carry on with our events, talks and discussions on subjects that interest Porsche drivers. We are also starting to prepare the first track day, because what Porsche people like most is meeting on tarmac.
“We have worked exclusively on Porsche since 1979”
Tell us a little about the history of Valentin Motors over the past 44 years.
We have worked exclusively on Porsche since 1979. We work modestly, for any customer, any project and any level. From the person who wants to compete on a circuit to the one who wants to bring a historic car back, or the driver who simply wants to keep their car in good order and use it every day. Always with expert advice and with standards that are not up for negotiation on any job. I think that is what has made us known among enthusiasts in Spain and in Europe.
And to get to know you a little better: what is your favourite Porsche of all time?
That is a hard question. There are many candidates in Porsche history. We all know the legendary cars: the 959, the 2.7 RS, the 991 R, the GT1 and a long list besides. But personally I would take a 2.7 MFI from 1974 and probably a 3.2 Clubsport among the classics, and among the modern ones, the 991 Cup from 2018.
